Against the backdrop of a magnificent sunset, with the emerald sea and the island’s distinctive, colorful, charming little houses—with their unique architecture—as a natural setting, the Electring String Quartet “Fortissimo” presented an unforgettable concert and shared its dynamic, positive energy with the island’s wonderful audience.
The concert took place at the invitation of and in collaboration with the Municipality of Megisti-Kastellorizo, in the presence of Mayor Nikolaos Asvestis, the Deputy Mayor for Culture, Mr. Stratos Amygdalos, and other municipal representatives, and was attended with great enthusiasm by a large crowd of Greeks and foreigners visiting the island.
As previously announced, the Festival has embarked on a new, particularly significant path: the expansion of its activities beyond Rhodes, with the aim of bringing high-quality cultural events to the entire South Aegean.
The festival, with its new identity as the Rhodes–South Aegean International Festival, marking its expansion and creating a cultural network that unites the islands through music, aims to hold concerts on other small islands in the South Aegean that are not easily accessible and lack significant cultural events, as well as on larger islands that express an interest in participating in the festival.
The 19th Rhodes-South Aegean International Festival 2026 will continue with its scheduled concerts in September at the iconic Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes and will conclude with a concert at the historic Roman Conservatory of Kos.
The 19th Rhodes-South Aegean International Festival is organized under the Artistic and General Direction of Penelope Serdari, Special Advisor on Cultural Management, Ms. Penelope Serdari, founder of the festival, under the auspices and with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Greek National Tourism Organization (EOT), the General Secretariat for the Aegean and Island Policy, under the auspices of UNESCO, with the support of the Dodecanese Ephorate of Antiquities, as well as other relevant organizations as appropriate.
It is organized by the non-profit Cultural Organization for the Promotion of the Arts and Greek Culture “Rhodes International Festival,” in collaboration with the municipalities of Megisti-Kastellorizo, Rhodes, and Kos.
