21 artists from Athens, Lisbon, London, Madrid, and Rotterdam will take the stage at the 11th Rhodes Jazz Festival.
The concert portion of the festival will take place once again at the iconic Panagia tou Bourgu venue in the Medieval City of Rhodes.
The bands Vialia Calda, Harris Lambrakis Quartet, Seeds, Spyros Manesis Trio, Yiorgos Bereris Quartet, and Adam Ben Ezra Duo promise a multifaceted program. During the festival’s three unique evenings, the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy experimental and modal jazz, jazz melodies from the 1960s, as well as sounds from the Balkans and the traditional music of Greece and the Eastern Mediterranean. The program also includes original compositions and premieres of new recordings.
The Rhodes Jazz Festival’s side events will begin on September 13 with a photography exhibition by Thrasos Irini, which serves as the opening event for the 11th Rhodes Jazz Festival. The exhibition will be open to the public from September 13 through September 20 at the English Lodge in the Medieval City of Rhodes.
In support of local artistic creation, the artwork for each festival’s poster is selected from the work of an artist who has a special connection to Rhodes. For this year’s 11th Rhodes Jazz Festival, a work by Damon Papakyriakou was selected.
The Rhodes Jazz Festival is organized by Arte Con Anima and takes place under the auspices and with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture, the Greek National Tourism Organization, and in collaboration with the Region of South Aegean and the Municipality of Rhodes, and is supported by the Dodecanese Ephorate of Antiquities.
