Work has begun on the restoration of the coastal road in Kremasti, with the aim of repairing the damage caused by last January’s severe weather and enhancing safety along the area’s coastal front.
As the Mayor of Rhodes, Alexandros Koliadis, stated in a press release: “For Kremasti, the waterfront is an integral part of residents’ daily lives, the local economy, and the region’s future. That is why we have prioritized repairing the damage caused by the severe weather last January.”
As part of the work, damaged sections of the road are being repaired, infrastructure protection is being reinforced with concrete structures, and asphalt work is being carried out to ensure safe access to the beach. This intervention is a necessary first step, while the long-term management of coastal erosion remains a key priority for the Kremasti area.
At the same time, the project includes interventions in Paradeisi, Theologos, and Soroni, covering infrastructure that serves the communities of western Rhodes. At the same time, municipal services are continuing efforts to address the damage caused by the severe weather on October 14 in various areas of the island, prioritizing the severity of the problems and the safety of citizens, while also carrying out scheduled projects.
The Mayor of Rhodes expressed his gratitude to Stavros Tsouvalis, Deputy Mayor for Public Works; Chrysovalantis Lampis, the appointed councilor for Ialysos and Petaloudes; the staff of the Technical Services, as well as all the crews working to repair the damage on the island.
“Our goal is for every region of Rhodes to have the infrastructure that supports its daily life and development. In Kremasti, the work being done today serves precisely this goal. We are continuing with the same sense of responsibility throughout the entire island,” concluded Mr. Koliadis.
