The 3rd Takkaki Festival is set to take place on Saturday, July 11, in Pastida, Rhodes. The event will be held in the courtyard of the Holy Church of Agios Georgios (St. George) in Pastida.
The event, which started four years ago as a simple idea by a group of local women to make a traditional treat, has now evolved into an institution for the local community. The main goal of the festival is to preserve local customs and promote the traditional sweet “takkaki,” which is a core element of Pastida’s gastronomic identity.
During the event, the women of the village will prepare and offer the traditional sweet to attendees, highlighting the memories and heritage of the area.
Some flavors are not just flavors… they are memories. They are the scents that used to fill our grandmothers’ homes. They are the stories told around the table. They are the moments that brought families and friends together. In a few days, tradition will come back to life in Pastida.
