The Cultural Association of Archangelos “Aithonas”<\/b> invites you to the Koulouri Festival<\/b> on Saturday, July 12th, at 21:00<\/b>, in the courtyard of the Archangelos Middle School – High School<\/b>.<\/p>\n
The event is co-organized with the South Aegean Region, the Municipal Organization of Culture and Sports of Rhodes (DOPAR), and with the support of the Municipal Community of Archangelos.<\/p>\n
This year, the Koulouri Festival will begin at 18:00<\/b> at the traditional Archangelos house of Charistoula Makiari in Patitiri, with a re-enactment of the Traditional Archangelos Wedding<\/b>.<\/p>\n
In Archangelos, marriage is one of the most significant events in social life, accompanied by a plethora of customs. Many of these traditions and customs remain unchanged over time, indicating the importance of tradition in the lives of the inhabitants and its uniquely harmonious presence with the social life of the place. A wedding cannot happen without the koulouria!<\/p>\n
By bringing traditions to life at this very special festival, “Aithonas” actively contributes to the preservation of local cultural heritage, passing on a unique legacy for future generations.<\/p>\n
The event will feature singing by Christina Koza<\/b>, accompanied by musicians: Yiannis Kladakis<\/b> – lyra & vocals, Manolis Balasas<\/b> – violin, Tasos Kolios<\/b> – drums, Michalis Savvakis<\/b> – accordion, Giorgos Papouras<\/b> – lute & bouzouki.<\/p>\n
Also participating will be the adult dance section of Aithonas, with dance instructor Mr. Merkouri Salonikio, the Aithonas choir, led by Ms. Christina Koza, and the Aithonas Traditional Orchestra with musicians: Giorgos Papouras – lute, Giorgos Kontogianno – guitar, Thomas Karatzia – guitar, Kostas Roufas – violin, Giorgos Argyraki \u2013 mandolin.<\/p>\n
