Germany, relocated to Rhodes, Greece, in 1998 to work as a goldsmith. Enchanted by Greece, she decided to settle there. In 2011, she graduated with honors from the University of Western Macedonia in Florina, Greece, majoring in Fine and Applied Arts. Since 2011 she has been living on Rhodes working as an independent artist and in art education. Her art draws inspiration from her various life experiences, the places she has lived, and the environments she has encountered. She works as an art teacher at the Artistic Workshop of the Division of DOPAR (children and adult classes). In her current exhibition, she presents a series of paintings that draw inspiration from Greek mythology, delving specifically into the captivating narrative of the Myth of Alcyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 from Tokyo, Japan. Mariko\u2019s art is originated in Japanese Calligraphy (\u66f8\u9053), which led her interest to ink wash painting (\u6c34\u58a8\u753b) and Haiga (\u4ff3\u753b). She obtained a teacher\u2019s certificate of Japanese calligraphy and held her solo exhibition of Japanese calligraphy and Haiga four times in Gallery \u0396\u03c9\u03ae in Tokyo. Since 2009 she has lived in a several countries both in Asia and Europe. Through her experience in living abroad, she has got intrigued in watercolour painting. After almost ten years living in Finland she moved to Rhodes in 2022. In the following year she published her first book of sketches \u201cThe Seasons of Finland -A Collection of Sketches and Stories- \u201c, and held an exhibition in Tokyo presenting her watercolour artworks from Finland and Rhodes. She appreciates the beauty of medieval architecture and its rich atmosphere in Rhodes.
