Joicy Pereira de Carvalho is a Brazilian Lyric Coloratura soprano specializing in operatic bel canto repertoire, with additional experience in chamber music and baroque repertoire. In Brazil, she joined the Choir of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of the State of Goi\u00e1s as head of the soprano section. She sang as soprano soloist in the Mass by Schubert No. 2 in G major and Choral Fantasy by Beethoven in C minor, Op. 80.<\/p>\n

With the Symphony Orchestra of Goiania, she performed as a soloist in symphonic works such as Dixit Dominus and Messiah by Georg Friedrich Handel and Beethoven\u2019s Oratory, Christ on the Mount of Olives, as Seraphim. She sang the Opera L\u2019elisir d\u2019amore by Gaetano Donizetti as Adina, and Amahl in the operetta \u201cAmahl and Night Visitors\u201d by Gian Carlo Menotti. She is the winner of the 1st prize in the Young Soloist competition in Goiania \u2013 Brazil, and 3rd prize in the Conrad Art Song competition by the BGSU College of Musical Arts, Ohio, U.S.A.<\/p>\n

Joicy graduated in vocal performance from the Federal University of Goi\u00e1s in Brazil, with the mentoring of Prof. Dra. Mar\u00edlia Alvares. In 2023, she received full tuition scholarship and assistantship as a TA to start her Master\u2019s Degree program in vocal performance at Bowling Green State University with the mentoring of Prof. Ms. Myra Merritt-Grant.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old native of Rhodes, Apostolos Angelos Konstantakis, is a pianist who has been honored with many awards in Greece, Europe, and the USA. His accolades include first prizes at the 5th Greek National Piano Competition of the Thessaloniki Piano Festival, the 2023 Bowling Green State University Concerto Competition, and the 2024 Conrad Art Song Competition. Through this opportunity, he had the chance to work with the BG Philharmonic Orchestra and perform Franz Liszt\u2019s Concerto No 2 under the baton of Dr. Emily Freeman Brown. He also performed the same Concerto with the Athens Youth Symphony Orchestra at the Athens Conservatoire, under Pavlos Sergiou.<\/p>\n

Moreover, Konstantakis has given multiple concerts at venues including the Athens Concert Hall, Thessaloniki Concert Hall, Alternative Stage of the Greek National Opera, and Palace of the Grand Master of Rhodes, as well as in many places including Xanthi, Florina, Germany, and the U.S. He participated in music festivals including the Rhodes International Piano Forum & Rhodes Art International Music Festival, and the International Festival of Symi.<\/p>\n

In 2023, he received full tuition and the Patricia Smith scholarship from Bowling Green State University, where he is a current graduate student and accompanying assistant in Piano Performance major under Dr. Solungga Liu. He also graduated from the Ionian University (BM and Integrated MM) in Piano Performance, under the direction of Prof. Lambis Vassiliadis and the guidance of Hideyo Harada.<\/p>\n
