The world-famous melodies of the great Italian composer and Conductor Ennio Morricone for movies such as “Cinema Paradiso,” “The Mission,” “A Fistful of Dollars,” “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly,” “Malena,” “Once Upon a Time in the West,” “Sacco and Vanzetti,” “Once Upon a Time in America,” and many more, take center stage in a concert featuring the all-female Orchestra from Italy “LE MUSE,” and Morricone’s unique diva, SUSANNA RIGACCI, who accompanied him on all his concerts for 20 years.
Simultaneously with the performance of the most famous soundtracks in cinema history, images and clips from the films of Sergio Leone, Federico Fellini, Giuseppe Tornatore, and Francis Ford Coppola will be projected, creating an unforgettable experience.
Ennio Morricone, the Italian composer and conductor who enchanted the global audience with his music, won two Oscars, three Grammy awards, four Golden Globes, two European Film Awards, a Golden Lion, and many more throughout his career, while over 70 million of his records have been sold worldwide. His compositions have fascinated entire generations and span various musical genres, making him the most important soundtrack composer of all time.
The tribute to his work, which will be presented at the Medieval Moat Theater, constitutes a homage to the great composer.
The symphonic ensemble Le Muse from Italy consists exclusively of female musicians, most of whom come from the famous “Rondo Veneziano” orchestra. Beyond their rich experience in all aspects of classical music, they possess a particular sensibility in interpreting the compositions of Ennio Morricone, whose music is widely known for its precision and sensitivity in describing imagery.
The above tribute was first presented in 2016, following Ennio Morricone’s Oscar win, and received the High Patronage of the President of the Italian Republic as the most representative tribute to the great composer worldwide. To this day, it has been presented in many countries across Europe, as well as in America and Asia.
A special place in the Le Muse Orchestra is held by the exceptional soprano Daniela Placci, while it is conducted by the pianist, founder of the orchestra, and maestro Andrea Albertini.
