SeaAccess Systems Installed on Four Beaches in the Municipality of Rhodes

The Municipality of Rhodes, consistently ensuring autonomous and unimpeded access to the sea for people with disabilities (PWDs), has proceeded with the installation of four SeaAccess systems on an equal number of beaches on the island. Specifically, the systems have been installed on the beaches of Elli, Faliraki, Afantou, and Lindos.

The equipment was recently returned to Rhodes from the manufacturing and maintenance company, based in Thessaloniki, where it had been sent for necessary technical inspection and full maintenance. With the completion of the installation work, as of Friday, June 27th, the systems will be ready for use by the public.

SeaAccess is an innovative accessibility mechanism, designed to safely and comfortably facilitate the movement of individuals with mobility difficulties from the shore to the sea and vice versa. Its use is simple, safe, and completely adapted to the needs of the users.

Ensuring equal access for all citizens is a fundamental principle and a constant priority for the Municipal Authority under Mayor Alexandros Koliadis. In this context, the Municipality of Rhodes proceeded to enhance accessibility to the sea for people with mobility difficulties by installing SeaAccess systems on four of the island’s most well-known and frequented beaches, having previously ensured their full maintenance and repair of any damages, so that the systems are fully functional and safe to use.
