Carmen Rouggeri’s “Mozart, The Magic Flute”
During her summer tour, Carmen Rouggeri and her collaborators will introduce both young and older audiences to the unique Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, transforming his opera “The Magic Flute” into a Musical Fairytale overflowing with the magnificent melodies of this unparalleled composer.
A Few Words About the Work:
The King of Day and the Queen of Night once fell madly in love and decided to unite. However, their love lasted only a short while. She was made of lies and malice, he of truth and kindness. She wished to rule with darkness, he desired to reign with light. How could they match then? They separated, and their great love immediately turned into enmity.
After 9 months, the dark queen gave birth to a beautiful little girl, Pamina, to whom she never revealed her father’s identity. The King of Day learned of this and grew dark. He wanted to take her close to him. He feared that living next to her mother would make her adopt her character. So, one day he secretly stole her and had her guarded in a beautiful tower. The Queen of Night then grew angry. She made her sky even darker, extinguished her stars. She had to find a way to get her daughter back. So, she began searching for a brave young man. A young man who could help her. She found him in the person of Prince Tamino, and also Papageno.
Prince Tamino – a symbol of virtue and love – finds his ideal match in Pamina. However, the couple will undergo many trials. Armed with love, our heroes will triumph and unite forever. With them is Papageno, a charming fairytale hero whose mischievousness will bring children moments of joy and laughter. The work concludes with the two enemies, the Queen of Night and the King of Day, united. Good will conquer evil and spread across the entire Earth.
