In a particularly cordial and warm atmosphere, a courtesy visit was paid today by a delegation from the new Board of Directors of the Rhodes Lions Club for the Lions year 2026–2027, to His Eminence Metropolitan Kyrillos of Rhodes, at his office in the Holy Metropolis of Rhodes.
The Club was represented by President L. Mentos Zoannou, the immediate past President, L. Panagiotis Sakellariou, the Secretary, L. Stella Anastasiadi, and the Treasurer, L. Vasilis Nikolis.
During the meeting, the members of the new Board had the opportunity to present to His Eminence the multifaceted social work and long-standing initiatives of the Rhodes Lions Club, which consistently uphold the principles of humanitarianism, solidarity, and selfless service to others.
In an atmosphere of mutual respect and meaningful dialogue, a fruitful exchange of views took place regarding the crucial role of volunteerism in modern society, the importance of social awareness and active citizen participation, as well as the prospects for developing initiatives and collaborations for the benefit of the local community and our fellow citizens in need.
His Eminence Kyriakos expressed his deep appreciation for the work carried out over the years by the Rhodes Lions Club, recognizing its consistent and substantial contribution to social cohesion and service to humanity. At the same time, he wished the new Board of Directors good health, strength, and every success in fulfilling its mission during the new Lions year.
Finally, the Club President expressed her warm thanks to His Eminence for the cordial welcome, the constructive dialogue, and his fatherly support.
The meeting concluded with the shared recognition that the cooperation of all organizations serving people and society as a whole constitutes a valuable asset for strengthening cohesion, solidarity, and the social well-being of our country.
