Driven by a sense of responsibility toward island Greece and with a vision to highlight the major issues facing our islands, the newspaper “I Rodiaki” announces the launch of Island Voices. A new initiative that aims to become the leading forum for island policy, development, and cooperation in Greece and Europe.
On October 16 & 17, at the Sheraton Rhodes Resort Hotel, Rhodes will host representatives from the Greek government, the European Union, local government, the academic community, the business sector, and civil society, at an event dedicated to the challenges as well as the great opportunities facing island regions.
The “Rodiaki” initiative is a natural continuation of the newspaper’s longstanding presence at all the events that have shaped the course of this region for over a century. For decades now, the historic newspaper of the Dodecanese has not merely chronicled developments but has actively contributed to shaping public discourse and highlighting the issues that determine the future of our islands.
Island Voices aims to serve as a platform for meaningful dialogue and the development of policy proposals, focusing on critical issues such as connectivity, housing, natural resource management, health, the resilience of island communities, entrepreneurship, sustainable tourism, and the utilization of European funding.
Through this event, “Rodiaki” reaffirms its role as a modern media outlet that is not limited to reporting current events but takes initiatives with a meaningful impact on development and society, building bridges of cooperation between institutions, the business sector, and society.
