The Dodecanese Ephorate of Antiquities is participating in the traditional celebration of the August Full Moon and invites the public to visit museums and monuments on Rhodes, Kos, and Patmos, which will remain open on the evening of Friday, August 28, 2026.
Specifically:
Rhodes Archaeological Museum, Museum Square, Medieval City of Rhodes; Hours: 8:00 p.m.–midnight
Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the exhibition spaces and gardens of the Archaeological Museum of Rhodes. Alongside the Museum’s permanent collections, they will be able to view works of contemporary ceramics, which are being presented as part of the 2nd Biennale of Contemporary Ceramic Art.
Recep Pasha Mosque, Dorieos Square, Medieval City of Rhodes Opening hours: 7:30 PM–11:00 PM
The monumental complex will be open to the public, allowing visitors to tour its premises and explore the recently restored mosque.
The events will take place in the courtyard of the complex. At 7:30 p.m., Evangelia Gkeli will tell a fairy tale for young and old alike, followed at 8:30 p.m. by a musical performance featuring saxophone and oud by musicians Thanasis Verdellis and Giorgos Karavelatzis.
Nikolaidis Mansion, Chora, Patmos Opening hours: 8:00 PM–12:00 AM
Visitors will have the opportunity to take a guided tour of the historic mansion.
Roman House (Casa Romana), Kos Town, Hours: 8:00 PM–12:00 AM
The public will have the opportunity to tour the restored monument and experience firsthand one of the most important architectural complexes of ancient Kos.
The Dodecanese Ephorate of Antiquities invites residents and visitors to enjoy the night of the August full moon through a unique fusion of monuments, storytelling, music, and contemporary artistic expression.
Admission to the Archaeological Museum of Rhodes and the above-mentioned monuments will be free during the specified opening hours.
