For the 19th consecutive year, the heart of Mediterranean sailing beats in the Aegean! From September 11 to 14, 2026, the waters off Marmaris
will host the international sailing race “Channel Regatta 2026,” an iconic event co-organized by the Rhodes Offshore Sailing Club (ASIATH) and the Marmaris International Yacht Club (MIYC).
The “Tsannel Regatta” is much more than just a sporting event. It is a unique gathering that unites the coasts of Greece and
Turkey. Greek and Turkish sailors become one with their crews, compete side by side, and jointly send a powerful message of “peace, love, and solidarity” to the wider region of the southeastern Mediterranean. This year’s event combines the high strategy of open-sea sailing with the dynamism of coastal racing, testing the crews’ teamwork and sailing skills under changing and demanding conditions.
Dozens of boats and hundreds of sailors from different countries are expected to gather in Marmaris, forging new friendships and celebrating the shared maritime culture of the two nations.
EVENT SCHEDULE:
-Friday, September 11: Crew registration and document verification (10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., MIYC Secretariat).
-Saturday, September 12: Skipper Briefing and official opening ceremony (Opening Party) at 8:00 PM at the Mini Amphi Theatre in the Marmaris Marina.
