A special musical event will take place on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 8:30 p.m., at the “Markos Karanastasis” Amphitheater of ELMEPA in Heraklion, Crete, featuring four choral ensembles. The event is dedicated to music, collaboration, and communication among people who share a love of singing, and admission is free to the public.
The following choirs will participate in the event:
- Rhodes Municipal Conservatory Adult Choir (Conductor: Angela Spanou)
- ELMEPA Choir & THALITAS Vocal Ensemble (Conductor: Yiannis Protopapas)
- Mixed Choir of the Municipality of Heraklion (Conductor: Yiannis Kiayadakis)
- Heraklion Regional Unit Mixed Choir (Conductor: Lena Hatzigeorgiou)
This gathering represents an important opportunity to exchange artistic experiences and forge new bonds, highlighting the role of choirs as vibrant cultural entities that unite people and communities, contributing to the dissemination of musical creativity.
The Rhodes Municipal Conservatory Choir
The Rhodes Municipal Conservatory Choir was founded in October 2020 by conductor Angela Spanou and is an active musical ensemble with a consistent presence in the island’s cultural events. With a repertoire ranging from early music to contemporary compositions, it engages in diverse artistic activities through concerts and collaborations.
Its participation in Heraklion is part of this outward-looking approach, giving its members the opportunity to represent Rhodes and share with the audience and partner choirs the work accomplished in rehearsals. At the same time, the exchange of experiences and the opportunity for members to get to know one another lay the groundwork for future artistic collaborations, making music a common meeting ground between Rhodes and Crete.

- Tenors: Fotini Alexiou, Eleni Gianna, Ippokratis Zarifis, Anna Maria Klada, Apostolis Koumoulis, Olga Koutri, Georgia Meggiou, Chrysanthi Tiliakou.
- Basses: Nikitas Zavolas, Tasos Ioannidis, Stavros Iliadis, Giorgos Kaltekis, John Wilson, Giannis Palios, Dimitris Pirpiris, Spyros Platis, Kostas Tsolakidis, Ignatios Chrysochoos.
The event is held with the support of the Hellenic Mediterranean University, the Region of Crete, the Municipality of Heraklion, the Rhodes Municipal Conservatory Choir, and the THALITAS Vocal Ensemble.
