The Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family, in collaboration with the National Youth Council, announces the organization of a major National Youth Consultation, which will take place on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, as part of the “Rhodes Youth Fair” festival in Rhodes. The event is an integral part of the 12th Cycle of the European Youth Dialogue (EU Youth Dialogue) and focuses on European Youth Goal #4: “Information and Constructive Dialogue,” titled “EU Youth Dialogue: Youth and Modern AI Technologies.”

The purpose of the consultation is to bring together 200 young people, aged 15 to 30, from diverse social and educational backgrounds, to discuss the impact that artificial intelligence (AI), social media algorithms, and misinformation have on their democratic participation and mental health.

Chrysanthi Papadopoulou, Coordinator and Project Manager “European Dialogue with Youth 2025–2027” of the Youth Directorate at the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family, and Stylianos Maridakis, Vice President of the National Youth Council.

The keynote address, titled “Youth, Artificial Intelligence, and Information: Building Digital Resilience,” will be delivered by Michael G. Kavouklis, Political Scientist and International Relations Expert, and President of the House of Europe in Rhodes.

Avoiding traditional and static conference formats, the consultation will be based on innovative, interactive methods, coordinated by the experienced staff of the House of Europe in Rhodes. Participants will be divided into groups and will take part in:

  • World Café: In-depth discussions at round tables with the help of facilitators, addressing key questions about fake news, online safety, and digital education.
  • Experiential Activities (Moving Debates & Street Interviews): Dynamic activities in the open space of the Rhodes Youth Fair, where young people will be able to express their views quickly, spontaneously, and through hands-on experiences.

The Voice of Youth Shapes Europe: The findings, ideas, and proposals that emerge from the Rhodes event will not be shelved. They will be compiled into official reports (in Greek and English) and will inform the National Working Group, helping to shape Greece’s positions on European youth policies this coming December and in preparation for the Greek Presidency of the European Council in the second half of 2027.

Young people who wish to participate in the consultation can register online here: https://forms.gle/cvC2gYcVESuX2EYF7, by Monday, October 5, 2026.

Schools interested in participating with delegations are invited to contact the organizers of the Rhodes Youth Fair at team@rhodesyouthfair.gr or at 6948278995.

All participants will receive:

  • Active participation in the discussion and hands-on activities
  • An organized tour of the Rhodes Youth Fair
  • Certificate of Participation
  • A commemorative bag with related materials
  • Access to a coffee station
