As part of the 10th Rhodes Festival of Artistic Creation, the French Cultural Center in Rhodes will host, from September 1 through 12, 2026, a solo exhibition by painter and visual artist Manos Anastasiadis, titled “Two-Way Interactions: South Aegean—Paris”
The exhibition constitutes a visual dialogue between two places that have been decisively linked to the artist’s creative journey: the South Aegean and Paris.
His first visit to Paris, in the summer of 1996, was a pivotal moment in the development of his artistic vision. His encounter with the city’s history, art, and culture, as well as with important artists and artistic traditions, served as the starting point for a deeper exploration.
These experiences were not adopted uncritically, but were assimilated and transformed through his personal perspective, leading to the development of a distinctive visual language.
“Two-Way Interactions” explores memory, influence, encounter, and transformation: about the way in which a place and an experience return to the artist, transformed through the creative process.
The presentation of the exhibition at the French Residence, a historic venue with timeless ties to French culture, takes on special symbolism, as the exhibition itself spans the axis of Rhodes – South Aegean – Paris.”
Gala Opening of the 10th Rhodes Festival of Artistic Creation & Parallel Screenings
The 2026 Festival is dedicated to the late Christodoulos Papachristodoulou and to the historic Rodini, with the island of Leros as the guest of honor.
The opening of the exhibition effectively marks the official start of the 10th Rhodes Festival of Artistic Creation. At the opening, a video dedicated to Rodini—curated by Giorgos Tzedakis—will be screened, along with rare photographic material from Rodini, from the archive of collector Stavros Georgallidis.
