The Maritsa Cultural and Educational Association “O Keronatis” extends an open invitation to the “Sotiria 2026”, the annual event marking the prelude to the great feast of the Transfiguration of the Savior.
The event will take place on Monday, August 3, 2026 at 8:30 p.m. at Maritsa Square. This is the traditional “Maritsa Ksagripnima”, an vigil that has been held continuously in the village for more than thirty (30) years.
The Event Program

Start: The program will open with traditional dance groups from the “O Keronatis” Association.

Traditional Celebration: Next, the entertainment will be taken over by Nikos Tzellos will take over the entertainment with his live lyre and his band, drawing the audience into an authentic Maritsa-style celebration and dance.
The event is held under the auspices of the Community and the Church of Maritsa, with the active support of all the village’s partner organizations.
⚠️ Important Request for Visitors: Due to the sharp increase in visitors to Maritsa and the limited space in the square, we strongly urge those who wish to attend the event while seated to make a table reservation as early as possible at the surrounding establishments in the square, so that they may be served as efficiently as possible.
