The Dodecanese House of Letters and Arts, the Federation of Dodecanese Community Associations of Rhodes, and Papazisis Publications are organizing the presentation of the historical and literary book by Nikos I. Konstantinidis, titled “The Dodecanese Odyssey: The Chronicle of a Generation.” The event will take place on Saturday, October 17, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the program beginning at 7:00 p.m., in the New Wing of the Nestorideion Melathron in Rhodes.

The book is a narrative historical journey covering the period 1912–1960. Based on true events, archival sources, personal testimonies, and people’s lived experiences, it reconstructs the history of the Dodecanese through foreign rule, war, the Occupation, famine, the Resistance, liberation, integration with Greece in 1948, and postwar reconstruction. At the same time, during the event, a screening of rare photographs from the archive of Stavros Georgallidis will take place, shedding light on unknown aspects of local history.

Author Kostas Skandalidis and Manolis Makris, president of the Dodecanese House of Letters and Arts, will discuss the book. The discussion will be moderated by Sofia Farmakidou and Susanna Kardoulia. Excerpts from the book will be read by members of the “Manos Katrakis” Theater Workshop (Vaso Angelakou, Kostas Atsiknoudas, Nomiki Angelakou, Anna Papanastassopoulou) and Apostolos Mariettis. The evening will conclude with a musical performance by Zoe Kokkala and Iliana Diakogeorgiou.

Admission is free for the public.
