Culture Day at the Asklepieion: A day dedicated to tradition, creativity, and our cultural heritage!
Traditional Pebble Art Workshop
As part of the AEGEAN SKILLS program, participants will learn about the unique art of Rhodian pebble painting through hands-on training and practical exercises, under the guidance of Kyriakos Lambros and Nektaria Dasakli. At the same time, they will help shape the courtyard of the community’s church, leaving their own creative mark on a project that will serve as a landmark for the area.
Speech by Vasilis Orfanou: “Dance in the Community of Asklipio”
Dance is not merely entertainment. It is the memory of our place, the way generations come together, the community expresses itself, and our tradition continues.
Through an open discussion, we will explore the role of dance in the local community, the changes that have taken place in recent years, and our shared responsibility to pass on to future generations not only the dances and songs, but also the values that accompany them: respect, participation, ethics, and a sense of community.
Tradition is not preserved simply by repeating it. It is preserved because it is understood, cherished, and passed on with a sense of responsibility.
