The Department of Culture of the Municipality of Rhodes and the Association of People with Disabilities of the Province of Rhodes, as part of cultural initiatives to promote equal participation in culture and inclusion, invite the public to the musical event “A Musical Journey through the Aegean,” which will take place on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 8:30 p.m., at the “Melina Merkouri” Medieval Moat Theater.
This is a unique musical performance in which the traditional sounds of the Aegean come to life through the interpretations of talented musicians with visual impairments, who demonstrate through their art that art knows no limitations and that music is a universal language of expression, inspiration, and communication.
The event features:
- Stathis Koukoulakis – violin
- Panagiotis Sakkoulas – lute
- Katholiki Tharenou – keyboards, vocals
- Dimitris Tharenos – bouzouki, vocals
- Argyris Svourakis – drums
The Embonas Cultural Association “O Attaviros” is participating, helping to create an evening that highlights the region’s cultural traditions and the power of collective creativity.
The event is a celebration of music, diversity, and human determination, sending the message that culture is a right for all and that creativity flourishes when there are equal opportunities and open societies.
The event is held with the support of the Dodecanese Ephorate of Antiquities of the Ministry of Culture.
We look forward to welcoming you all to an evening filled with music, emotion, and messages of optimism, at one of the most iconic venues in the city of Rhodes.
Admission is free for the public.
