The Sports Department of the Municipality of Rhodes announces the launch of the free Adult Sports Programs for the 2026–2027 season, which begin on Monday, October 12, 2026. The programs’ slogan is “Sports for All.”–2027, which begin on Monday, October 12, 2026. Under the slogan “Sports for All—Health, Wellness, Quality of Life,” the programs are aimed at adults and are designed to improve physical fitness, physical and mental health, and to strengthen and enhance participants’ quality of life.
The programs are tailored to the needs and capabilities of each age group and include the following categories:
- Individual Fitness Programs: These include aerobic exercises, strength training, toning, and muscle conditioning.
- Group Fitness: Includes aerobic exercise, weight training, and muscle strengthening for women and men of all ages and fitness levels.
- Fitness Programs for Seniors – KAPI: Gentle and safe exercise with an emphasis on mobility, balance, flexibility, and muscle strengthening to help KAPI members maintain their independence.
The detailed schedule for the classes is as follows:
Individual Fitness Programs
- Agios Ioannis Senior Citizens’ Center: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Instructor: Vangelis Karyofyllakis).
Mass Sports
- Kallipateira Municipal Sports Center: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. (Coordinator: Georgios Bosganas).
- Venetokleio Community Sports Center: Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Coordinator: Georgios Bosganas).
- Kremasti Community Sports Center: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. (Coordinator: Vangelis Hatziantoniou).
- Kallipateira Sports Center: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM (Coordinator: Vangelis Karyofyllakis).
The main goals of the programs are to improve physical fitness and muscle function, increase flexibility, maintain a healthy body weight, reducing stress, and promoting socialization among citizens through regular physical activity.
