The Municipality of Rhodes informs the residents of the city of Rhodes that the call for expressions of interest in participating in the “Neighborhood Councils” has been extended through Friday, October 23, due to the overwhelming response from citizens.
A large number of interested citizens have already come forward, responding to the Municipality’s call and expressing their desire to actively participate in this new initiative. The Municipality of Rhodes, heeding the desire for participation and active involvement in neighborhood issues, is giving even more residents the opportunity to join the nine “Neighborhood Councils,” by extending the deadline for submitting the relevant application form.
The “Neighborhood Councils,” a campaign promise by Rhodes Mayor Alexandros Koliadis that is now being implemented, are an innovative initiative of the Municipal Authority. They serve as a framework for participation, dialogue, and cooperation between residents and the Municipality, with the goal of actively involving citizens in decision-making and in resolving issues in their neighborhoods. Through this initiative, residents are given a voice, their role in the local community is strengthened, and they are given the opportunity to highlight the needs of each area and submit proposals for projects, actions, and initiatives that directly affect citizens’ daily lives.
