Road Safety Seminar organized by Aegean Skills at the University of the Aegean and the Region of South Aegean, ahead of the supercar skills competition featuring vehicles from eight countries
With the message “FOS in Life – FOS in Safety – FOS in Road Safety Education,” the 9th Festival of Speed Rhodes returns to Rhodes on Sunday, September 6, perfectly combining the premier spectacle of motorsports with a powerful, institutional message about responsible driving behavior.
This year’s event takes on special significance and a social dimension, as prior to the start of the racing program, at 4:00 p.m., a specialized seminar on road behavior and safety will take place.
The speaker will be the Deputy Regional Governor for Road Safety and the Attica Traffic Management Center and an experienced instructor, Mr. Konstantinos Markouizos (Iaveris), with the participation of representatives from local organizations.
A significant collaboration for road safety education
The seminar is an important initiative of the Aegean Skills program of the University of the Aegean and the Region of South Aegean. The two organizations are joining forces to make road safety and the cultivation of a proper driving culture the “heart” of a major motorsports festival, demonstrating that driver education is a priority for the local and academic communities.
In this context, Konstantinos Markouizos–Iaveris will present a brief and highly targeted seminar lasting approximately 30 minutes.
The presentation will be organized into six thematic sections, focusing on prevention, driver awareness, and road safety.
Participation in the seminar is free, giving all citizens and visitors in Eleftherias Square the opportunity to attend.
From road safety education… to racing action
Following the seminar, the focus shifts to the purely racing aspect of the Festival of Speed Rhodes.
The unique Supercars and Sport Premium Cars skills competition is expected to offer a spectacular show in the city center.
Impressive vehicles from eight countries will gather in Rhodes, with their drivers providing unique displays of speed and exceptional driving skill.
At the same time, this year’s event is expanding its appeal to motorcycle enthusiasts as well.
In the city center, the Vespa Club, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, the “Ikaros” Motorcycle Club with a motocross demonstration, and go-karts, creating an incredibly diverse setting for every motorsports enthusiast.
The Festival of Speed has evolved into an institution that attracts an ever-growing audience each year, successfully combining entertainment with substantive education and awareness-raising about road safety.
The event is organized with the support of the Region of South Aegean, the Municipality of Rhodes through DERMAE and the Chamber of Commerce, as well as the significant contribution of sponsors and businesses in Rhodes.
