For the first time in Rhodes, the renowned Balletto di Milano, considered one of Italy’s leading ballet companies, presents the timeless “Carmen” in a new, original approach to the work of Prosper Mérimée, globally known through the eponymous opera by Georges Bizet.
Carmen is a story of love, passion, and freedom. It tells the tragic tale of a fiercely independent woman whose need for liberty clashes with a man’s destructive jealousy, leading to a stunning conclusion.
The Balletto di Milano, featuring dancers trained at the legendary La Scala Academy, is regarded as an ambassador of Italian ballet and has enchanted audiences worldwide with its elegance, technical excellence, and unique aesthetic. The company has completed successful tours across Italy, the USA, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Switzerland, Spain, Germany, Cyprus, and many other countries.
Since 1998, the artistic direction of the company has been led by the distinguished choreographer Carlo Pesta, Knight of the Order of the Italian Republic. A graduate of both the Teatro alla Scala Dance School and the Moscow Dance School, he was a soloist with the La Scala Ballet for years, elevating Balletto di Milano to one of the highest levels of technical and artistic expression.
