Beloved singer Theodoros Voutsikakis captivated the audience with songs and music by prominent Greek and international composers, which continue to move people, transport, and bring people together through the power of music. The artistic direction of the performance was handled by the acclaimed lyricist and composer Lina Nikolakopoulou.

The event was attended by permanent residents of Rhodes, as well as visitors to the island, who filled the square and took part in a special evening that beautifully highlighted the timeless connection between culture and Rhodes’s tourist identity.

The musical performance was organized by the Tourism Department of the Municipality of Rhodes, with the support of PROTOUR, as part of an effort to promote the island not only as a popular tourist destination but also as a place of culture, creativity, and high-quality experiences.

Rhodes has proven once again that culture can be one of the most meaningful ways to promote a destination and project its image to the world. Through music, creativity, and its vibrant cultural identity, the island has highlighted a different dimension of tourism. A dimension that evokes emotions, conjures images, and gives visitors memories that remain vivid even after they return home.

The audience was welcomed by the president of PROTOUR and municipal councilor for tourism, Nikos Pavlakidis, conveying the warm greetings and best wishes of Rhodes Mayor Alexandros Koliadis. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of World Tourism Day, noting that in Rhodes, hospitality is an integral part of daily life and is reflected in the smiles, the care, and the warm welcome that the island’s people extend to every visitor.

He thanked the workers, tourism professionals, and the residents of Rhodes for their hard work, passion, and love with which they help ensure that the island remains a unique destination.

As he aptly noted, “If Rhodes has a lucky star, it is its people. With their hard work, passion, and open hearts, they make our island shine every day.”

He also thanked the Municipality of Rhodes’ Tourism Department for its significant contribution to the event, as well as the Red Cross for its support.

Referring to modern tourism promotion, he noted that technology is yet another tool that can bring visitors closer to the place and its people, highlighting the history, nature, and traditions of Rhodes in modern ways.
