Rhodes is one of the key stops on the itinerary of the 14th Panhellenic Festival of Inclusive Culture “Deaf and Hearing People in Action,” a nationwide event with international participation, taking place from September 18 to 30, 2026, in 14 cities and destinations across Greece.
Focusing on inclusion, accessibility, collaboration, and equal participation, the Festival brings together culture, art, education, and sports, creating a network of events and gatherings.
The Municipality of Rhodes, through the Rhodes International Center for Writers and Translators of the Department of Education and Youth, supports the initiative in Rhodes, in collaboration with the organizers and participating institutions.
Cultural and Archaeological Tour
The day’s program begins in the morning with a cultural and archaeological tour, which includes Pervola, the Archaeological Museum of Rhodes, and the Palace of the Grand Master, as part of the “Odysseus in Action” cultural tour.
Rhodes celebrates its inclusion in the Rodini Park;

At 7:00 p.m., at Rodini Park, Rhodes’ main event will take place, featuring opening remarks, a recognition ceremony, and the presentation of honorary plaques to the schools that participated in the program “Social Inclusion through Sports,” as part of the European Solidarity Corps – Solidarity Project.
Honorary plaques will be awarded:
- to the 1st Elementary School of Ialysos,
- to the Special Experimental Elementary School of Rhodes,
- to the 1st Special Elementary School of Rhodes,
- to the 2nd Special Elementary School of Rhodes,
- to the Special Education and Vocational Training Center of Rhodes.
Through sports and experiential activities, the children collaborated, communicated, and participated as equals, demonstrating in practice the role of sports as a means of social participation and empowerment.
The evening will continue with traditional dances performed by Embonas, the Koskinou Women’s Association, and the Archangelos Women’s Association, as well as a presentation of traditional Rhodes delicacies.
Rhodes’ participation in the Festival is part of the broader journey “Odysseus in Action,” linking the island’s rich cultural heritage with contemporary initiatives in education, culture, sports, and inclusion.
