Two new vehicles were recently added to the Municipality of Rhodes’s fleet, marking the start of a broader effort to renew and modernize municipal vehicles.
This is a coordinated initiative aimed at strengthening the services provided by the municipality, responding more quickly to daily needs, and improving service to citizens.
The procurement of these two vehicles is the first step in a broader plan by the municipal government to upgrade its fleet of vehicles and construction equipment, so that municipal departments have the necessary resources to carry out their responsibilities more effectively.
The new vehicles are intended to meet the ongoing and permanent needs of municipal departments and daily maintenance crews, thereby strengthening their operational capacity and enabling municipal teams to respond more quickly and effectively.
The Deputy Mayor for Entrepreneurship, Rolling Stock, and Movable Property, Nikolaos Tsoulos, stated:
“The addition of these two new vehicles to the Municipality of Rhodes’ fleet marks the beginning of a comprehensive plan to renew and modernize municipal equipment. Our goal is to substantially strengthen our day-to-day services and maintenance crews so that they can respond more quickly and effectively to the needs of the city and its residents.
At the same time, the department has already completed the necessary feasibility study, which calls for the procurement of more than 60 new vehicles and heavy construction machinery in the very near future, significantly enhancing the Municipality’s capabilities.
For us, renewing the fleet is not a one-off measure, but part of a consistent and organized policy. Through systematic assessment of needs, the gradual phasing out of old equipment, and the targeted procurement of modern resources, we are laying the groundwork for a more functional and efficient municipality.
This is a new philosophy for managing municipal assets, with a long-term perspective, which we aspire to establish as a lasting legacy for the operation of the Municipality of Rhodes, for the benefit of municipal services and, above all, the citizens.”
By renewing the fleet and upgrading the available equipment, the municipal administration led by Alexandros Koliadis is moving forward with a plan that focuses on improving the day-to-day operations of municipal services, the better utilization of municipal resources, and a more effective response to the needs of the local community.
