The Culture Directorate of the Municipality of Rhodes presents the unique concert “The Swing of Manolis Chiotis” on Monday, August 25, at 9:00 PM at the Medieval Moat Theater “Melina Merkouri.” Lina Nikolakopoulou will be in Rhodes for the musical performance featuring the swing, mambo, and laïka songs of Manolis Chiotis, which she herself designed and artistically curated.
The innovator Manolis Chiotis, who by his own invention added the fourth string to the then three-string bouzouki, gave his magical fingers wings and managed to play rhythms and motifs at high speeds, which changed the entertainment landscape of the country. Swing, mambo, bossa nova, and other Latin American rhythms captivated patrons wherever he performed with his partner, the great Mary Linda. The musical performance will feature the key milestones of Manolis Chiotis’s entire musical journey and evolution.
On stage will be the bouzouki virtuoso Manolis Karantinis, along with Aspasia Stratigou, Gerasimos Andreatos, and four solo musicians:

- Nikos Skomopoulos – Drums
