The Photography Workshop of the Culture Department of the Municipality of Rhodes, in collaboration with the Rhodes Association for Architecture and Cultural Heritage, presents a photography exhibition by its students titled “Frame,” at the English Lodge in Museum Square in the Medieval City of Rhodes, from Sunday, November 1, through Wednesday, November 4, 2026. The exhibition opening will take place on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.
Award-winning photographer Yro Chrysanthou serves as the exhibition’s educational and artistic curator. The exhibition marks the culmination of the workshop’s successful eight-month photography program (2025-26, leaving a rich creative legacy and highlighting the potential of photography education, personal expression, and collaboration.
Twenty students from the beginner and advanced classes completed a program filled with knowledge, experimentation, and creative encounters. Their progress, their dedication, and the team spirit cultivated during the classes reflect the program’s genuine success and the value of the workshop as a space for learning and artistic expression. The exhibition is a celebration of their creative journey and an opportunity to share the fruits of this collective effort with the public.
The participants, sometimes in the role of photographer and sometimes in the role of model, created photographic series, experimented with different techniques, and discovered the power of collaboration. Portraits, still lifes, color, light and shadow, movement, masks, and staged images trace a journey from knowledge to personal expression. The photographs in the exhibition were taken with cell phones and cameras.
In addition, a special section is included in anticipation of November 25 —the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women—which highlights the social dimension of photographic creation through a collective photography project with the central message “Every woman is sacred.” This collective photographic endeavor embodies sensitivity, respect, and solidarity, reminding us that every woman’s life, freedom, and dignity are non-negotiable.
The exhibition invites the public to explore the photographic works of the group members—both beginners and advanced—to meet the artists, and to discover the magical world of photography.
