Could the Greek alphabet hold the key to the harmony between humanity and the universe?

The Rhodes Hiking Group (OPER), in collaboration with the Municipality of Rhodes, is particularly honored to host a distinguished guest from Athens in Rhodes, mathematician, researcher, and author Eleftherios Argyropoulos, for a special live lecture to be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 8:00 p.m., at the Rhodes Municipal Winter Theater.

Eleftherios Argyropoulos studied mathematics at Northeastern University in Boston and has focused particularly on number theory. Over the past 25 years, he has devoted much of his research to studying the structure of the Greek language and exploring connections between language, numbers, mathematics, geometry, and ancient Greek thought. Through his own research approach, he seeks to shed light on a world where language is not merely viewed as a means of communication, but as a unique realm of symbolism, numerical relationships, and meanings.

In this unique presentation, he will take us on a journey into a world where numbers, language, geometry, philosophy, and Ancient Greek tradition converge beyond the surface of words and symbols, presenting, through images and examples, his own perspective on the mathematical constants π and φ and their relationship to the Greek language, the analogies and laws connected to the creation of the universe, the so-called “Plato’s Code” and the mysterious number 5040, the ancient “Code of Delphi,” the mathematical thinking attributed to Nikola Tesla, as well as the deeper symbolism of the Tetractys and the numerical relationships associated with it.

THIS IS NOT JUST ANOTHER LECTURE.

It is an invitation to pause for a moment and reconsider what we take for granted; to ask ourselves whether, behind the numbers, geometry, letters, and symbols, there is an order worth seeking…. a hidden dialogue between human thought and the harmony of the world.

To examine language not only as sound and words, but as a vehicle for memory, symbolism, and meaning.

An evening that does not merely aim to provide us with information, but to guide us toward a different way of observing, questioning, and seeking.

For since antiquity, the Greek language has been one of the most important tools with which humanity has sought to approach God, the world, nature, humanity, and Being itself. And perhaps, through the exploration of the relationship between language and number, a different path may open up— a path that leads not merely to knowledge, but to inner exploration, self-awareness, and humanity’s need to understand more deeply its place within the universe.

At the end of the event, Eleftherios Argyropoulos will present his two new books, bringing to a close an evening dedicated to knowledge, research, the power of the Greek word, and the enduring human quest for the meaning hidden behind the Obvious.
