Artist Heike Kummer presents her first solo painting exhibition, “One and Many,” from September 24 to September 28, 2026, at the English House, Museum Square, Old Town, 85100 Rhodes.

In this exhibition, Heike Kummer presents works from different periods of her artistic career. Older and newer paintings come together in a presentation that reveals a wide range of techniques, materials, styles, and approaches.

The works in the exhibition “One and Many” reflect this ongoing process of exploration. Different techniques and materials become different ways of expressing impressions, memories, places, and emotions. Some works are connected through recurring forms or ideas, while others stand apart, each following its own path.

An artistic journey unfolds through many forms.

And within the many, there is always the one—a personal artistic voice that is constantly changing, searching, and evolving.

Heike Kummer
Heike Kummer was born in Waiblingen, Germany, and in 1998 she moved to Rhodes, where she worked as a goldsmith in Nikolaos Vassilaras’s workshop. Enchanted by Greece, she decided to settle permanently on the island. In 2011, she graduated with honors from the Department of Fine and Applied Arts at the University of Western Macedonia in Florina.

Since then, she has lived and worked in Rhodes as an independent artist. Since 2021, she has been in charge of the Municipality of Rhodes Painting Workshop, in the field of art education.

She creates works using watercolor, ink, mixed media, acrylics, charcoal, and oil. She draws inspiration from her life experiences and the diverse environments she has encountered.

Her vibrant color palette and the combination of abstract and realistic forms bring dynamic compositions to life, which are both visually striking and deeply emotional.
