The 1st Experiential Cinematherapy Workshop is set to take place on Friday, July 10, from 09:00 to 11:00, at the Agios Ioannis KAPI (Open Center for Senior Citizens Protection) in Rhodes.
The initiative is organized by the Municipality of Rhodes (Directorate of Social Policy & Health – Department for the Protection of the Elderly) in collaboration with EKKOMED (Hellenic Center for Motion Pictures, Audiovisual Media and Creation). The workshop will be coordinated by Ms. Denise Nikolakou, Integrative Psychotherapist and Head of the “Cinematherapy by EKKOMED” program.
Theme and Objective
The central theme of the workshop is: “The stories we carry: Memories, resilience, and the power of life.”
The Cinematherapy method utilizes cinema as a tool to enhance the psychological well-being, self-awareness, and social connection of the participants.
Workshop Structure
The program of the experiential workshop includes:

A brief introduction to the Cinematherapy method.

The screening of a selected short film.

A guided discussion centered on the memories that shaped us, the hardships we overcame, and our sources of strength and hope.

An experiential personal reflection exercise.

Closing remarks with feedback and sharing of experiences among the members.
